The Training Process

Our training process involves the removal of troublesome behaviors and the reinforcement of positive ones. We first ensure your dog is obedient and knows their basic commands. Even if they know them, we will drill them to make sure your pup listens every time.
We also focus on:
· Breaking bad habits
· Socialization
· Exercise
· Mental stimulation
We approach certain behaviors your dog should not be engaging in head-on. Some of the bad habits we address at Stayyy include:
· Leash pulling
· Stealing food from other animals
· Excessive barking
· Jumping up on people
· Eating off the counter
· Rushing in or out the door
· Charging at other animals
It’s extremely important for your dog to be properly socialized. It ensures your dog is safe around others. Our training involves socializing your dog, so they are friendly with other dogs and better understand the dynamics of being part of a pack. We provide your pup with lots of opportunities to work on their socialization and meet other dogs.

DAY CAMP

Would you like to drop your dog off for the day to have them trained? Then Stayyy’s Day Camp is perfect for you! During our Day Camp program, we teach dogs the fundamentals of obedience, and we provide them with basic training. Our program is immersive, and our excellent trainers will work with your pup closely.
The Day Camp program is very flexible, and we’ll work around your schedule (within our business hours). Feel free to drop your dog off for a few hours or the entire day. Our trainers are also great at working with dogs that have special needs. Just let us know ahead of time, and we’ll make sure their needs are met.
Once you are ready to pick up your pup and take them home, we’ll send them home with some goodies. You can then work with your dog more and reinforce what they learned when you get home.

Leadership Program

Leadership is crucial when it comes to dog ownership. It’s important for your dog to understand their position in the pack. It’s very hard to raise an emotionally and mentally balanced dog if they don’t know who is in charge and who the pack leader is. If you don’t take on the leadership role, your dog will fight you for the role—which will lead to behavioral problems. Our leadership program helps clients to become the leaders of their packs—creating more stability in their household.

Board & Train

Some dogs need a little extra love and attention. Our Board and Train program is designed to meet the needs of dogs that have more advanced behavioral issues.
It may seem on the surface that some dogs are naturally more friendly than others. This isn’t the case. Proper socialization, friendliness, and good behavior are learned. If your dog has issues with moodiness, aggression, or other problematic behaviors, they were learned at some point. Since this is the case, they can also be unlearned. Whether you adopted a dog with problem behaviors or you allowed them to foster bad behaviors earlier in their lives, we will work with them to break those habits and reinforce good habits.
Remember, there is no such thing as a “bad dog” or “bad breed!” We will work with your dog regardless of age, breed, or gender.

Obedience

It’s extremely important as a dog owner to have an obedient dog. They need to know their basic commands, and they need to listen to your commands each and every time. A lack of obedience training will lead to a whole host of behavioral issues and consequences. If your dog isn’t obedient, they may growl, bark, eat off the table, pee on the floor, or take off when you open the door. Worst case scenario, they could attack another dog or bite someone! This may lead to a lawsuit, or your dog being put down. To protect your dog and those around you, make sure your dog learns obedience.
Obedience is the foundation of all of our training programs. Once obedience training has been taken care of, our trainers will be able to address any further issues. With that said, obedience training often takes care of problem behaviors.

Group Classes

Once your pup has learned the basics of obedience and their basic commands, they will be able to join our group classes. During group classes, dogs are exposed to a controlled and well-monitored environment where they can meet and socialize with other dogs. We gradually increase the level of distraction over time to note your dog’s improvement. Our goal is to ensure your dog is friendly and well-behaved. If you have a puppy, it’s good to socialize them early. With that said, adult dogs are also welcome in our group classes.
We offer group training at our dog training centers, along with dog parks, dog beaches, and other dog-friendly venues. Your dog will get to interact with a variety of different external environments.

What to Know About Dog Boarding

A lot of dog owners get stressed out when they consider dog boarding. With Stayyy, there’s no reason to be! It’s our mission to ensure your pup is comfortable, happy, and occupied during their stay at our boarding facility. We provide dogs with tons of opportunities to play, run around, and socialize with other dogs.
Daily walks are very important for dogs, so we take the dogs at our boarding facility out for long walks where they can go potty, sniff around, and stretch their legs. As all dogs have their unique needs, we make sure to tailor the walks we provide to meet the needs of each dog in our care.
In order to board your pup, we’ll need current vaccination records and written proof of DHLPP and Bordetella before check-in. If your pup is over four months old, we’ll also need rabies vaccination records. This is for the protection of our staff and our other furry guests.
Some things you’ll want to consider when preparing for your pup’s vacation include:
· A feeding schedule
· Bedding
· Dog food and treats
· Blankets and toys your dog loves
· Kennel crate (if trained)
We look forward to meeting your pup and hosting them in our doggy hotel!

What does it mean to be a Pack Leader?

Many people don’t understand the importance of becoming a “pack leader.” They would prefer a relationship with their dog in which they are both equals. The problem is dogs don’t see things the same way. They are hardwired to seek out a leader-follower relationship. If they don’t see you as the leader, they will take the position.
Our leadership program shows you how to project confidence, set boundaries, and reinforce good behaviors. Being a pack leader isn’t the same as being a bully. Instead, you will be trained to guide your dog like a parent would a child.
In order to make sure there is harmony in your household, it’s important to establish yourself as the pack leader. From there, you can build a happy and healthy relationship with your puppy or adult dog. Keep in mind that it’s never too late to become the leader of your pack! We’ll show you how to project confidence to your dog and show leadership qualities. In turn, this will lead to a happier and more emotionally-balanced dog.
