We are able to work with both adult dogs and puppies. We will teach your dog to be obedient, friendly, and well-trained, and we will show you how to ensure their continued success.

The Training Process

Stayyy’s training process revolves around both removing bad behaviors and reinforcing good behaviors. We start with commands and obedience, and we build from there.
On top of obedience, we also focus on:
· Exercise
· Socialization
· Mental stimulation
· Breaking bad habits
We approach certain behaviors your dog should not be engaging in head-on. Some of the bad habits we address at Stayyy include:
· Excessive barking
· Stealing food from other animals
· Jumping up on people
· Rushing in or out the door
· Leash pulling
· Eating off the counter
· Charging at other animals
Socialization is extremely important. Your dog should be able to meet other dogs, sniff, and play without aggression. Stayyy focuses on socialization as a key component of our dog training programs. It’s our goal to ensure your dog knows how to behave around other dogs. We provide pups with plenty of opportunities during training to meet other dogs, socialize, play, and learn how to be better pack members.

DAY CAMP

Stayyy’s Day Camp program is the perfect place for your pup to learn their basic commands and the fundamentals of obedience. During the Day Camp program provided by Stayyy, your dog will learn everything they need to know about obedience through training provided by the top dog trainers in Chicago. We offer very flexible hours for Day Camp. Let us know what time is best for you (within our business hours). If you want to drop them off for a few hours, you can. We can also take care of your pup for the entire day!
If you have a dog with special needs, don’t worry. Our expert trainers are able to accommodate dogs with special needs of all sorts.
We’ll have some extra goodies ready when you pick up your pup from Day Camp. You can then work with them more when you get home.

Leadership Program

You need to show leadership if you want a happy and emotionally balanced dog. This is an extremely important aspect of dog ownership owners often neglect. In turn, this leads to poor behavior and struggle. If your dog isn’t listening and you find yourself constantly fighting with them, you may be a candidate for leadership training.

Board & Train

Every dog is a good dog. Some dogs, though, need a little extra love and attention. If you have a dog with more advanced behavioral issues, Stayyy’s Board and Train program may be the perfect solution to meet their needs.
There are many misconceptions about dogs with behavioral issues. Some people blame the behavioral issues on the breed or the specific dog. These are not the sources of the problem. Dogs of all breeds can be properly socialized and taught obedience. Others think older dogs can’t learn socialization and obedience. This also is not true. Dogs of all ages can learn to be fun, friendly, calm, and obedient.
Our Board and Train program is designed to overcome the aggression, obedience, and mood issues your dog has adopted and replace those behaviors with positive ones. No matter what your dog’s age, breed, size, or gender is, we are here to help!

Obedience

Obedience is one of the most important parts of dog ownership. Having a dog that isn’t obedient can lead to a variety of behavioral issues that range from minor to major. Some of the minor issues include peeing on the floor, jumping up on guests, barking, eating off the table, and so on. Some of the major issues include running away, growling, fighting with other dogs, and even biting. These major issues can lead to a lawsuit and even your pup being put down.
At Stayyy, we understand how important obedience is and we focus strongly on this aspect of dog training. We drill basic commands to ensure your dog listens each and every time. No matter what the age of your dog is, they can learn obedience.

Group Classes

After your pup has learned the basics of obedience and listens to commands, they can join our group classes. During these classes, your dog is able to meet with others and socialize in a controlled and well-monitored environment. We continue to challenge your dog with each session and keep track of their progress. The goals are for your dog to be obedient in any circumstance and to be friendly overall. We are able to work both with puppies and adult dogs.
We provide group training at various locations. This includes not only our training centers, but also dog beaches, dog parks, and other dog-friendly venues. This way, your dog can interact with a variety of different environments.

What to Know About Dog Boarding

Dog owners are often worried about dog boarding, and it can be quite stressful. They are often worried about the facility, their dog’s feelings, and how much exercise their dog will get. With Stayyy, there is no need to worry! We provide a high-energy, upbeat dog boarding experience that focuses on exercise, play, and socialization. Dogs at our boarding facility receive plenty of positive attention and opportunities to run around and have fun.
Walks are extremely important for not only the health but also the happiness of dogs. We make sure to take the dogs in our care on long walks where they can sniff around, potty, and stretch their legs. We also provide them with outdoor time at our boarding facility. They get to run around and meet others.
If your dog has any special needs, let us know. Our specialists are excellent at taking care of dogs with special needs.
In order to board your pup, we’ll need current vaccination records and written proof of DHLPP and Bordetella before check-in. If your pup is over four months old, we’ll also need rabies vaccination records. This is for the protection of our staff and our other furry guests.
Some things you’ll want to consider when preparing for your pup’s vacation include:
· Bedding
· Dog food and treats
· Kennel crate (if trained)
· A feeding schedule
· Blankets and toys your dog loves
We look forward to meeting your pup and hosting them in our dog hotel!

What does it mean to be a Pack Leader?

Dogs are pack animals. Even if you see your dog as an equal, they don’t see you the same way. Dogs are hardwired to seek a leader-follower relationship. If they don’t see you as the leader, they will assume the role. This ends up leading to a lot of behavioral issues.
Being the pack leader doesn’t mean being aggressive or being a bully. This is a common misconception. Instead, you simply need to show leadership skills and be assertive, confident, and calm. It’s your job as a dog owner to set boundaries and create structure. If you set these boundaries and exude confident energy, your dog will fall in line and behave.
Once you’ve established yourself as the leader, you’ll find your dog is calmer and happier. You’ll also have a much more positive relationship with your dog. Even if your dog already has taken on the leadership role, you can take it back. It’s never too late to become pack leader!
